Mars will be seen by the naked eye this January 29, due to Mars closing in to Earth, which will be the closest encounter between 2008 and 2014. Mars, which could be seen without the aid of a telescope, will rise with the moon, and will be clearly seen on Friday when the full moon and Mars itself converge. Mars will resemble a bright orange star and will not twinkle, unlike the stars we see at night. Click here for the original article.
Now that might be a spectacle worth waiting.
